The resignation of coach Ellis Johnson.

• We the Southern Miss community feel that in the best interest of the football program, an action plan must be developed for coach Ellis Johnson to resign at the end of the 2012 season. Coach Ellis Johnson has shown that he is not capable of leading our Southern Miss football program to the next level. The team appears to have regressed and shows no future potential for improvement. Coach Ellis has made poor coaching and personnel hiring decisions, such as the strength coordinator situation. The fan base does not support him based on Southern Miss internet board postings. His coaching strategies were booed during saturdays game vs ECU. Loss to louisville on a truly low percentage play.The Southern Miss faithful had wanted to continue the previous staffs system and he promised this would happen. He lied as we have not seen the spread passing attack whatsover. Coach Ellis Johnson brings no  leadeship and will further harm the program and any progress that has been made.To prevent further damage and hardship to the program we the Southern Miss community feel it is time for coach Ellis Johnson to move on as he is not delivering nor embracing the attitude,culture, and spirit that is Southern Miss football.
