Juniper Blessing was a 19-year-old college student at the University of Washington in Seattle. She was studying in the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Science, and friends described her as "so caring, always wanted to listen, always there if you needed her."

Then, on Sunday, May 10, 2026 she went to the student laundry room. After spending 19 years bringing joy and love and light to everyone around her, a man followed her into the building, and brutally murdered her in cold blood.

Warning: disturbing details follow.

The young transgender student was beloved by all around her. Her family released a statement saying "Juniper was simply the most amazing human being we have ever known." A friend said she "only wished the best for everyone in her life."

But on the night of May 10, the man who followed her into a laundry room killed her by stabbing her more than 40 times. Her body showed stab wounds on her head, neck, shoulder, arms, and hands, which led her to die from blood loss.

Another student found her only a few minutes later - she entered the laundry room just as Juniper's murderer was leaving. The student saw Juniper lying on the ground covered in blood and immediately called 911. Unfortunately, it was too late, as Juniper passed away before authorities arrived.

Officials were able to use surveillance cameras and help from the public to identify the man who murdered Juniper and began a multi-day search for him, before the perpetrator finally turned himself in. According to court documents, the same man had previously stalked a different student on campus, also following that person into the same exact laundry room. Luckily, that student survived.

It is enraging and sickening to think about how this young person's life ended in such horrible pain, fear, horror, confusion, shock, and agony. She didn't do anything wrong. She was just a student trying to be kind to the people around her, to focus on her studies, and to simply do her laundry.

This grotesque murder requires accountability. Sign the petition to demand justice for Juniper Blessing!
