Tell Minnesota Encouraging Someone to Kill Themselves Should NOT Be Protected By Free Speech

Suicide voyeur William Melchert-Dinkel was convicted for assisted suicide due to him successfully encouraging two individuals to commit suicide while he posed as a female nurse online.  However, the case has been overturned by Minnesota Courts because a state law against encouraging and promoting suicide allegedly breaks the constitution by restricting freedom of speech.

While freedom of speech is an essential right, encouraging someone to harm themselves should not be protected by freedom of speech laws.  The court should rethink this decision to help prevent this from happening again.  Additionally, lower courts should tread carefully with this case and ensure William Melchert-Dinkel gets the help he needs.

Tell Minnesota Courts that encouraging and giving someone step-by-step directions to commit suicide or otherwise harm themselves should not be protected by free speech laws.
