L'abaissement de l'âge de vote à 16 ans au Nouveau-Brunswick est un des mandats de la Fédération des jeunes francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick depuis 2014.

Grâce à l'abaissement, tous les jeunes pourraient faire entendre leur voix de façon formelle. De plus, en ouvrant le processus électoral aux jeunes de 16 et 17 ans, on va les chercher plus tôt, quand ils sont encore dans un contexte scolaire. Donc, l'éducation civique ou citoyenne qui doit se faire au secondaire sera valorisée.

Les jeunes pourraient apprendre comment participer au processus électoral et comment faire un vote informé et éclairer en temps réel et verront l'importance immédiate de cet apprentissage.

Lowering the voting age to 16 in New Brunswick has been a mandate of the Fédération des jeunes francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick since 2014.

By lowering the voting age, all young people could make their voices heard formally. In addition, by opening the electoral process to 16 and 17 year olds, they could vote while still in school. Civic education done in highschools would be more valuable.

Young people could learn how to participate in the electoral process and how to make an informed vote in real time and see the immediate importance of this learning.
