Free Terai/Madhesh Campaign

Parliament of Nepal has approved its new political map based on Sugauli Treaty, signed between East India Company and Nepal on March 4, 1816. According to it, Terrain/Madhesh is not a territory of Nepal, which was annexed to Nepal later on by the Memorandum Treaty between the same on December 8, 1816 and November 1, 1860. The treaty of 1860 was ratified on November 15 in the same year.
Moving on in timeline, British Empire signed a treaty with Nepal on December 21, 1923, which established Nepal as a sovereign state, and nullified prior treaties signed between both parties. With the end of British rule in India, Nepal signed a treaty with India on July 31, 1950, and like the treaty of 1923, it nullified previous treaties signed between British and Nepal.
According to the treaties of 1923 and 1950, Terrain/Madhesh is an autonomous region, which was annexed to Nepal without the consent of Terrain's inhabitants in 1816 and 1860. Similarly, the new political map issued by Nepal this month verifies Terrain/Madhesh as an autonomous region as it approved its new map according to the treaty of March 4, 1816, while Terrain/Madhesh was under the rule of British.
We the people of Terrain/Madhesh,thus, urge United Nations Organisation (UN) to accomplish referendum for Independent Terrain/Madhesh, to guarantee the rule of indigenous people of Terrain, and to protect the human rights and self determinations in the territory, which has been confiscated by Nepalese since 1816, with its annexation in Nepal as a colony.
