Many of us have been unhappy with changes to our school since Miss Moles started in post from September 2015. Some of these changes have been good but communication from Miss Moles to everyone - parents/carers and staff - has NOT been. The entire Governing Body of the school stood down on Monday 20th June due to their concerns not being taken seriously by Herts for Learning and HCC. This is another huge worry as to what would make them collectively do this, particularly when many of them had been Governors for over 10 years.
Safeguarding concerns were raised back in January this year but some serious Safeguarding breaches have come to light that County are not supporting the Governors in dealing with. 5 MEMBERS OF STAFF HAVE ALLEGEDLY BEEN EMPLOYED BY MISS MOLES AND STARTED IN POST PRIOR TO A DBS CHECK BEING COMPLETED. This is a BASIC Safeguarding measure that MUST be followed. A new male TA recently had to be sent home from school when his lack of DBS was discovered when he was found alone in a classroom with 3 pupuls. Those pupils are OUR children. This member of staff has subsequently had a clear DBS check but should never have been allowed to start work before this had been done. If the Headteacher of a school is not doing this, who can we trust to keep our children safe???
29 members of staff have also resigned from Springmead since September 2015. This is still happening as of 2 weeks ago. This is no longer "gut reaction" to a new Head, there are serious strategic issues here and it cannot continue.
County are not listening to the Governors...maybe they will listen to us
