Stop Animal Cruelty!
Every year, animals across the country and around the world suffer in ways that no living being should ever endure. Recent cases have made it painfully clear that animal cruelty is not a distant problem — it is happening in our communities, in our institutions, and even at the hands of people in positions of authority.
In Florida, officers discovered more than 30 animals — including macaws, cats, emus, chickens, and a pig — living in dangerous, filthy conditions, trapped inside a cramped camper filled with debris and ammonia fumes. In Georgia, authorities rescued 256 neglected animals, some already dead, in what officials described as one of the worst cruelty cases in the state’s history. In California, investigators found 27 horses dead across multiple properties, with many more starving and abandoned.
Cruelty has also surfaced in places where accountability should be strongest. A local official in the Philippines was caught on video beating a dog named Axle, who later died from his injuries. And in the United States, a high‑profile elected official publicly admitted to shooting her own dog, sparking national outrage and raising questions about how easily violence against animals can be dismissed or excused.
Even in regulated environments, animals continue to suffer. A recent report from the United Kingdom documented over 22,000 animals affected by laboratory non‑compliance, with 146 confirmed violations — yet not a single prosecution has ever been brought for harm in research settings.
These cases are not isolated. They are symptoms of a larger, systemic failure to protect animals from abuse, neglect, and violence. They show us that current laws are not strong enough, enforcement is inconsistent, and penalties often fail to reflect the seriousness of the harm done.
We believe animals deserve better.
We are calling for stronger protections, stricter enforcement, meaningful penalties for abusers, and greater transparency in all settings where animals are kept, used, or cared for. By signing this petition, you are standing up for the voiceless and demanding a future where cruelty is not tolerated — anywhere, by anyone.
Together, we can push for laws that reflect our values and ensure that no animal suffers in silence again.
