We are a non-partisan organization with the aim to have 100 million people vote for a Progressive Agenda in the 2012 election. We will march to the polls committed to electing a government of All the people, by All the people, and for All the people. Those political candidates that promise to uphold our Progressive Agenda will receive our endorsement.
I. Taxes down for the 99%, up for the 1%
In a time where the disparity between the rich and the poor is becoming greater every year, we need a tax system that works for the people, not a tax system that holds us down. The richest of this nation must pay their Fair Share!
II. Protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid
Anyone who attacks these institutions declares war on our seniors, ignores those in need, and aims to deprive millions of children from receiving quality health care.
III. America Leads the World in Education
Education is a right, not a privilege. And not only in elementary and high school, but also higher education. It is an Inalienable Right that every American has the ability to receive a great education and to earn a degree--without having to mortgage their future with overwhelming debts. A promising future should not be only for those who can afford it, but for those who have worked hard to get it.
IV. Energy Independence
America cannot keep sending money abroad for its energy needs. We must invest in our own oil, wind, and solar power. Let us build a clean, energy-efficient America for the future.
V. End Corporate Dominance of our Government
The overpowering influence of corporations on our government through unlimited spending on lobbying and campaign donations must come to an end. We are to be a government of the People, by the People, and for the People! Corporations are not people, and they cannot speak for those that work for them!
VI. Keep Jobs in America
The best way to help our economy is to keep Americans in their jobs. Our country is plagued with unemployment and crippling deficits, we cannot continue to send our jobs beyond America’s shores.
VII. Protect and Defend the Liberty, Equality, and Inalienable Rights for all Americans
This nation began with the idea that all People were created equal, and as such, should be given Equal Rights. We must push to keep this idea alive within America. Though we might not all be born in equal standings, we should all have the same Rights!
