China: It Shouldn't Be Legal to Mutilate Animals!

Photographic evidence shows two beggars in China's Fuzhou, Fujian province using a mutilated camel to draw sympathy and cash donations from passersby. They claim the camel was run over by a train, but in reality they chopped off the animal's hooves. Police confirm that mutilating animals is a new trend, but China has no laws against animal abuse, so there's nothing they can do.

Beggars used to mutilate themselves to garner sympathy, but the public has caught on. Now, they're harming animals to increase their cash flow. Beggars have been using that camel since April, and it continues to bring them lots of cash.

This barbaric practice does more than cause pain and suffering to animals. It forces passersby, including children, to view gruesome and disturbing displays as they go about their daily business. Beggars should not be rewarded for abusing animals and showing off their abuse for profit. Please sign the petition to urge the Chinese government to create legislation against animal abuse!

We, the undersigned, are concerned with the way Chinese beggars are hurting animals for their own profit, and forcing passersby to view disturbing displays of animal abuse.
