Violence against women: a woman killed in Italy every 3 days

In recent weeks, eight women were killed by a family member or partner of a life. On average, a woman is killed every three days, a victim of the killing spree of a close person, most often dear.

One in three women has suffered physical or sexual violence in most cases by a partner or family member.

Generally it is a man's reaction to the woman's decision to terminate a relationship, more or less formalized, or at least did not want to rebuild. The second group concerns the sphere of "daily conflict ", the litigation even banal which happen at home.

Femicide is often an escalation of violence or harassment of a physical nature. Available data indicate a high frequency of abuse prior to the detriment of the victims.
