Spotify Is Letting Abusers Have Access to Victims!

The advent of the internet made life a lot easier for so many people. Unfortunately, some of those people are abusers, who all of the sudden had easier ways to track, stalk and control their victims.

Since then most platforms, especially those that include a social networking aspect allow users to block other users. Spotify, the music streaming service doesn't have this feature and that's a real problem for victims looking to find some semblance of safety and boundaries.

Will you sign the petition asking Spotify to create a "block user" feature right now?

Victims of stalking, predominantly women, often feel extremely unsafe online. They have to be super careful what they post and where because they never know if their stalkers will be able to find them from that information. It's extremely unsettling to have someone who makes you feel unsafe following you on every platform you join.

That's why every platform from Facebook to Twitter to LinkedIn allows you to block people. You should always have control over who has access to you and most companies know this. So why hasn't Spotify made this a priority yet? They are obviously thriving and growing, so why can't they devote some product engineering time to introducing a feature that would make people feel safer?
