Tell Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley to Ban Hunting and Protect our Wildlife.

Trinidad and Tobago, home to over 400 species of birds, almost 100 species of mammals and many other reptiles and amphibians, is a biodiversity paradise. As our country reels from the effects of falling oil prices and with the admission that there will never be another oil boom we need to look to eco-tourism as our next step. This cannot occur in an environment where hunting and wildlife destruction takes place. We need to stop the destruction of our natural heritage so that we can all thrive as a people , as a nation and not just a few who would seek to destroy for their personal gain. Until there are effective measures in place to manage our bio-resources, we cannot sit back as our forests are plundered. We must all take action, raise our voices and pens to protect those creatures who do not speak the same language as we do. We cannot just reopen the hunting season without the proper laws, enforcement and fines in place to allow only responsible hunting and clamp down totally on the illegal activity.
