Keep Sunland Skate Park Open

The Sunland Skate Park located near Sunland Recreation Center in the park is being closed down to due to alleged lack of city funds to repair and upkeep this park for our active youth, our professional skate, scooter and BMX riders. The city is stating that there are no funds for the minor repairs and upkeep of this very important and frequented spot for our youth and athletes.

Local cities including, Glendale, Burbank, La Canada and surrounding communites have opened, maintained and provided  a safe skate park for the youth of their communites. These skate parks are imperative not only to the professional sport of pro scooter, skate and BMX but to the active youth and parents of the community.

Where will these athletes and recreational riders go? They will be forced to ride illegally on the streets,  the abandoned parkings lots and other unsafe parts of the community where there is the potential of citations, injuries and possible lawsuits.
