A Trump and Stephen Miller-backed dark money group has begun running an absolutely deranged ad showing Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico wearing Julie Andrews' dress from the Sound of Music and playing doctored clips of Talarico's voice to make him say that "he loves trans kids."

This marks a new low in political muckraking that makes it clear that we desperately need new legislation to regulate the use of AI in political attacks, because this is as misleading as it is offensive.

These AI-generated videos can have profound effects on people, especially older voters who aren't tech-savvy enough to realize that what they are seeing is NOT real.
