We as students request the right to decorate our caps for our high school graduation. Our graduating marks the beginning of our lives in the real world, and the completion of 12 years of school. Our freedom of creativity and expression should not be hindered for the sake of looking identical to the other graduates in our class. The dignified ceremony that we as a school and a district desire to present can be maintained even with the presence of decorated caps. For those of us joining the military, entering apprentice programs or trade school, or pursuing a life that does not revolve around college, this is the only graduation we will ever have. According to the Knight High School Mission/Vision, "Every student at Knight High School will have the OPTION of attending a four-year college or university". College is strictly pushed even though some of us will not make it there. It's our right to illustrate our excitement by decorating our caps. We will make sure that our decorated caps if accepted are SCHOOL APPROPRIATE and follow any and all guidelines that the school board or principle assign. We beg as High School Seniors to let this be the year of change and a new generation. LET'S GO HAWKS!!
