For many years the 122 Pct. had a Post Advisor P.O. Dana Nunez. Recently Officer Nunez has gone on sick leave due to cardiac surgery. In his time as Post Advisor he helped 38 teenagers from the ages of 15 to 20 years old develope confidence within themselves, discipline, and kept these teens twice a week with volunteer services for our community. Since his departure our Explorer Program for the 122 Pct is now down to 25 explorers.
Before P.O. Nunez went on medical leave, his recommendation for his replacement was P.O. Robert Ramirez of the 122 Pct. For several months before Officer Nunez's leave he volunteered his own time getting acquainted with the explorers at the post and their families. This seemed like an appropriate transition for these teens and gave them hope that they would not be left behind loosing one advisor while gaining a new mentor they can trust. However, this weekend our kids did community service with no Post Advisor to support them. That being said it is with great concern that the families of the NYPD Explorer Post 2122 request Police Officer Robert Ramirez as their new Post Advisor.
