Close Guantanamo Bay!

The U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba was opened in the heyday of post-9/11 panic and opportunism, when support for expanding the military industrial complex and Islamophobia were skyhigh. Guantanamo Bay was set up to hold hundreds of 9/11 suspects outside the "confines" of U.S. laws, allowing extreme interrogation tactics that often crossed into torture.

19 years later, Guantanamo still holds 40 men, nearly all of whom have never been tried or found guilty of any crime.

Add your name to demand President Biden, the US Congress, and the US Supreme Court work in coordination to end indefinite detention, close the Guantánamo prison, and repatriate all prisoners who have not been proven guilty in federal court.

The system of justice created at Guantanamo Bay is fundamentally unconstitutional and obscenely anti-human rights, from indefinite detention, to denying access to counsel, to using tainted "evidence" found under torture.

And for nearly two decades, the military commissions created by Bush unjustly tried prisoners while concealing and censoring their human and legal rights violations from public view.

Sign here to demand that President Biden, our Democratic-majority Congress, and the U.S. Supreme Court act swiftly to do what Obama tried and Trump refused to do: close Guantanamo Bay.
