Our local, independently owned bookstore is in danger of disappearing forever. From My Shelf bookstore officially opened its doors for business in July of 2006 with only about 3,000 books on the shelves, mostly used, but with dreams of filling the 800 square feet, top to bottom, with books. They have given Tioga County the first bookstore of its kind, with new and used books, across a wide spectrum of genres and prices.
If you are looking for a certain book, they will get it for you, usually in less than 7 days. The staff is always warm, welcoming and helpful to everyone. They remember customers names and always greet them as if they were long lost friends. From My Shelf is a wonderful place for everyone from 2 to 92.
Losing this bookstore will do our area a terrible disservice. There is no other store like them for miles around. They are an assest to our schools and our residents. They are
