For years, anti-renewable energy legislators have been trying to repeal Ohio's clean energy and energy efficiency standards.

Finally, this summer, these same politicians succeeded in dismantling those standards by tucking them into a "clean air" bill, House Bill 6, that bails out two nuclear as well as two coal plants.

This disappointing turn isn't the end of the fight though. It's a call to action.

Ohioans overwhelmingly disapproved of House Bill 6. But anti-renewable entities, funded by dark money and big polluters, spent months lobbying the Ohio legislature, pouring millions of dollars into advertisements, and ultimately forced the legislation through. It's clear the backers of House Bill 6 had a more difficult time pushing through their deceptive, dangerous legislation than they ever imagined. Now is the time to speak up and hold our elected officials accountable. Now is the time to make it clear to Ohio's leaders that House Bill 6 was wrong for Ohio, and that we want political leaders making choices that lead to a cleaner, more sustainable future for all Ohioans.
