Whole Foods, Amazon: Stop Selling This Bottled Water With Potentially Harmful Levels of Arsenic

Consumer Reports' testing has found that Starkey Spring Water — bottled water manufactured and sold by Whole Foods and parent-company Amazon — has concerning levels of arsenic. The arsenic levels in Starkey were at least three times that of the 44 other brands of bottled water tested by Consumer Reports, and just barely under federal limits.

Regular consumption of even small amounts of arsenic over extended periods increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and certain cancers, and can lower children's IQ scores. Please join with us by sending a quick message to Whole Foods and Amazon to stop the sale of this water until they dramatically lower arsenic levels!
Whole Foods and Amazon:

You should protect the health of your customers by immediately removing from sale Starkey Spring Water at all Whole Foods stores and the Amazon platform until you dramatically lower levels of arsenic. Consumer Reports latest tests found Starkey Spring Water had arsenic levels ranging from 9.49 to 9.56 parts per billion (ppb), just barely under the 10 ppb federal limit -- and at least three times the level of the 44 other bottled water brands tested.

Regular consumption of even small amounts of arsenic increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and certain cancers, and can impact children's brain development. Starkey Spring Water has had a history of high arsenic levels in testing, and it's time for you to stop selling this water until arsenic levels are reduced to at least 3 ppb, the limit recommended by Consumer Reports.
