The Council must stop the development of the previous Baloony building to be converted into 1-2 apartments on Sunnyside Road

I am a resident on Sunnyside Road and I am writing to petition against the current development in the old Baloony building.
Ridgepoint Homes have been allowed by the district council to build 1-2 bed apartments in the building that used to be Baloony.
Estate agents Potter and Ford confirmed that 5 of the 6 flats have been sold already and the development is expected to be finished by the end of this autumn.
As a resident on Sunnyside road, I am outraged that planning has been approved for this development. Clearly the council has once again turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the parking issues on our road.
Last year the council made a lukewarm effort to address the parking situation proposing a “solution” that in fact was to create a bigger problem than we already have. Many of us spoke against their proposed solution and nothing further developed since.
This petition is to stop the development of the apartments and to keep the building as offices or business use. This would enable us, the residents, to have a better chance at parking our cars on the road where we live. The road is already over solicited and allowing this development to happen will exacerbate the problem.
Furthermore, for those who are owners, this type of development could lead to depreciation in the value of the property.
If you agree, please sign this petition against a development that will lead to greater parking problems and potential depreciation in the value of our homes; therefore having a negative impact on our living standards.
