Help the World's Most Vulnerable Women Survive COVID-19
Right now, women in conflict-affected countries are being hit hardest as the pandemic wrecks havoc on so many aspects of their lives, including their health, safety, and economic well-being. signersigner
As primary caregivers to the sick and elderly, women are more susceptible to infection. And the infection isn't the only threat lurking at home, forced into quarantine many are also at increased risk of domestic violence.
The pandemic isn't just threatening their physical health and safety. Lockdown measures mean women are increasingly isolated and cut off from support networks, which negatively impacts their mental health.
The economic fallout from COVID-19 also disproportionately impacts women living in conflict-torn areas, with many engaged in informal economies and low-paid work. With these reduced earnings comes a lack of control over resources and even fewer financial safety nets.
Whether it is an armed conflict or a pandemic — crisis robs women of choice and a voice.
That's why Women for Women International helps provide the tools, training, and community support for women to find the power to overcome crisis. And with the pandemic, teams are on the ground developing innovative solutions that help women against coronavirus while supporting them with the many other unthinkable challenges that come alongside crisis. 14,340 women have been served during the pandemic with cash assistance, radio awareness, phone calls, hygiene kits, WhatsApp groups, and more. But we can't do this work without the support of a global community championing for women's power.
Join Women for Women International and pledge to help the most vulnerable women survive this global pandemic.
