How have we allowed school shootings to become commonplace? Children are being gunned down in their classrooms. Public spaces are no longer safe for our families. Meanwhile, the pro-gun lobby continues to throw money at our politicians to prevent real, common-sense gun control.
This time it's families in Oregon facing the terror of not knowing if their children will come home from school today.
Since the horrific attacks at Sandy Hook in December 2012 took the lives of 20 children, there have been 74 school shootings in America. That's nearly one every week.
When will we decide enough is enough? When will our politicians finally stop taking money from the NRA and other gun lobbyists and finally start protecting our children from unnecessary, horrific gun deaths?
