This will enable more young people regardless of their religion, race, disability and gender in our community here in Woolwich to engage sporting activities with the aim to encourage Participants to shun crime and engage in voluntary work in the community which can enhance employment prospects. This will also aimed at bridging ethnic groups and uniting our diverse communities such as football tournaments, community sporting events, and family fun days. It will also help build better people – individuals with the right skills who become happy, healthy and a credit to the community they serve. So in addition to sporting activities, we organise a monthly programme of events, workshops and seminars to inspire young people and provide them with the essential life skills they need to succeed. This will also ensure that young people take control of their own destiny and turn away from crime and anti-social behaviour within the community. This will help shape leaders and provide learning opportunities through comprehensive advice/support programmes on a wide range of issues, Sport can help break down barriers, improve health, reduce crime and increase personal esteem and self-confidence. Through Pathway Sports we aim to train disadvantaged young people from the borough's most deprived homes or estates as football coaches and give them the opportunity to coach others in the communities to develop grassroot and increase the numbers of coaches, and Players involved in football.
