Create a Nation of Lifesavers

In the UK, more than 30,000 cardiac arrests occur out of hospital every year. Tragically, less than one in ten people survives. When every second counts, bystander action such as performing CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), can make the difference between life and death.

Currently we estimate that only one in seven young people in secondary education receive CPR training.

We believe all young people should leave school knowing how to save a life. We want every child across the UK to become part of a Nation of Lifesavers by being taught CPR and public access defibrillator (PAD) awareness at secondary school.

Teaching these skills is an excellent way of dramatically increasing the number of people equipped with the skills and confidence to step in and help in an emergency. For example, in Norway, where CPR is taught in school, the survival rate is 25%. Comparatively, England's survival rate stands at a poor 8.6%.

Join our campaign to help save more lives. Support teaching CPR and PAD awareness at secondary school and help create a nation of lifesavers.
