Help support Georgia patients by reducing barriers to health care

Georgia patients, particularly those living with chronic conditions, rely on consistent and reliable access to the treatments and care they need to manage symptoms and control their illness.

However, insurance barriers and pharmacy middlemen are still blocking lifesaving health care for many patients. Many health insurance companies and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) receive significant rebates and discounts from pharmaceutical companies for the cost of medications and treatments, but they don't pass those savings onto patients receiving the care. This causes Georgians to pay more out-of-pocket for the care they need.

Georgia lawmakers are considering legislation that will help Georgia patients access the care they need. House Bill 343 (HB343) will require insurers and PBMs to pass 80% of the rebates they receive from drug companies for the cost of medications directly to patients at the pharmacy counter. Patients will no longer pay the full list price for their medications that offer pharmaceutical rebates.

Help us support Georgia patients by reducing barriers to health care.

Join us today and send a letter to your legislators, urging them to support HB343 and improve health care access for patients.

Dear [Representative Name],

As your constituent, I urge you to support House Bill 343 and improve access to health care for Georgia patients. Georgia health insurance companies and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) are blocking lifesaving health care for many patients. Insurers and PBMs receive significant rebates and discounts for the cost of medications and treatments, but they don't pass those savings onto patients receiving the care, causing Georgians to pay more out-of-pocket for the care they need.

More than 2 of every 3 Americans abandon their prescription medication when their out-of-pocket costs reach $250. It is critical that legislators take action to lower what Georgians pay at the pharmacy counter for their medications – insurers and PBMs must pass savings onto patients.

Please support House Bill 343 and help Georgia patients access the care they need when they need it.
