Vote NO on SB26-140! Let Colorado’s PDAB do its job.

Hardworking Coloradans cannot keep up with the skyrocketing costs of health care and we need our lawmakers to fight so we can afford the critical medicines we rely on. Now is not the time to prevent Colorado's Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) from reviewing the cost of hundreds of commonly-prescribed medications that Coloradans struggle to afford every day. The PDAB is our best tool to lower drug prices and I strongly urge you to vote NO on SB 140.

Colorado's Prescription Drug Affordability Board is leading the nation in addressing skyrocketing prescription drug costs. In October 2025, Colorado set the first-in-the-nation Upper Payment Limit (UPL) on Enbrel, which is projected to save Coloradans approximately $38 million a year. In fact, a bipartisan 67% of Colorado voters support the work the Board is doing to lower medication costs.

Unfortunately, since the Prescription Drug Affordability Board was created, there have been numerous efforts to stop the board from limiting what big pharmaceutical companies can charge hardworking Coloradans. SB 140 takes away the PDAB's authority to review affordability – and lower the cost of – some of the most expensive prescription medications. In fact, it will remove 67% (471 medications) of the approximately 700 medications that Colorado's PDAB can review for affordability.

The bottom line is that SB 140 guts the PDAB by preventing it from reviewing the cost of hundreds of commonly-prescribed medications that Coloradans struggle to afford every day. Prescription drugs don't work if people can't afford them, and patients living with rare diseases deserve affordable medication, which is why a bill was passed in 2024 to give Coloradans with rare diseases even more input into the PDAB's decisions. The legislature needs to let the bill passed in 2024 work.

Don't play games by gutting Colorado's Prescription Drug Affordability Board and let it do its job to lower prescription medication costs. Tell your legislators to VOTE NO ON SB 140.
