Lets put child abusers and murderers away

This petition is to bring awareness of child abuse and the fact that punishments are so very petty right now. Children who are abused have nobody to protect them, they need us to make stricter laws and penalties for this crime so that people will think before comitting these horrific crimes.
Baby P (Peter Connolly) was murdered by his mother, step-father, and a live in. On the day he was found he had many old wounds the worse being a broken back, eight broken ribs, lacerations on his scalp, and too many others. It was proven that the final blow that took his young life of seventeen months was when his tep father punched him in the mouth. This made him swallow a bottom tooth, and silence his cries forever.
Baby Brianna was brutally beaten over the course of her six month life, as well as raped and bit by her mother, father, and an uncle. Although her grandmother knew of this injustice along with another uncle they never once reported the crimes, or tried to stop them. She simply gave up after a night of torture, being thrown to the ceiling and let to fall from there to the ground.
These people were brutally cruel to their own children, and deserve nothing less than life in prison, but only got a smack on the hand. These beautiful children won't experience life thanks to these murderers, and yet we are going to let them out someday? Why?
