Utility Companies should give each customer the option to receive either Cash or a Credit for the excess of energy produced from their home that is fed back on to the grid. In most cases, utility companies are getting the continual "excess" of energy for FREE without compensating the residential customer for it except in the form of a credit.
Think about it, if you continually produce more than you consume, what good is a credit going to do you?
We the undersigned agree that it should be a mandated law that Utility Companies give each consumer the option to receive "Cash" instead of a Credit for the over production of Green Energy fed back onto the grid.
The Issue:
Currently, you will only receive a credit on your power bill from power companies for excess electricity produced by the customer. Cash in the form of a check is not even an option.
This credit issued from the power companies result in little or no true compensation for the customer who continually produces more than their home consumes. The excess power generated by the consumer is being fed back into the power grid and absorbed by the power company with no plan in place to compensate the customer for this power being sold by the electric company at retail price per KWH.
I'm proposing that customers who continually over produce have the option to receive cash in the form of a monthly check from the power company. This could be economically good for both parties.
One option is to issue the price per KW/H at their wholesale rate of retail cost.
Second option, the the power companies establish a price that is below utility production cost but near wholesale that can be paid to the customer for each KW/H produced. This solution would pay the customer for producing excess power that is fed onto the grid and reduces production costs for utility companies.
A true Win Win situation!
If a piece of legislature could be passed for a similar bill, the following would take place:
-Residential Consumers Could Get Paid To Produce Green Energy
-Reduction In Global Warming
-Incentives For Customers Becoming Energy Interdependent
-Reduces The Countries Dependence On Foreign Oil
-Job Creation
-New Investment Opportunity
-Reduces Our National Security Issues, etc.
Many benefits could come from utilities willing to pay their customers cash that continually over produce. This additionally can minimize their costs of electricity production.
