The Philadelphia Cheesesteak that we all know and devour in many different ways, is in part due to Pat and Harry Olivieri, founders of Pats King of Steaks, in the 1930's. To this day, we Philadelphians and those who have experienced pure bliss when indulging in such a treat, are still enjoying bite after bite.
As the AAC, Association for the Advancement of Cheesesteaks, we would like to declare A WHOLE day of demolishin', tearin' up and the devouration of Philadelphia's iconic delicacy of the Cheesesteak. We would like for all, far and wide, tall and short, hairy and bald, to unite and proclaim our love of Cheesesteaks on one celebrated day. We first and foremost need to have enough people as possible in support for our cause. To do this, we need you and your friends to sign our Cheesesteak Day Petition and to follow along (even participate) in our campaign.
We as the AAC will be submitting our Cheesesteak Day Petition to the City Hall of Philadelphia as soon as we reach our goal of 5,000 signatures. Once the petition is being reviewed and passed (saying prayers and crossing our fingers), we will then start planning for the events of Cheesesteak Day on January 16th, 2010. Thank you for you help and participation!
