To help push for the family law system to be given a complete overhaul. The fact is, that our children are being taken on the presumption that they will suffer in the future, or the fact they have suffered emotional abuse when they really haven't 'suffered' at all. Emotional abuse is something professionals use when they have no other reasons, yet the emotional abuse the children suffer by being removed from a safe and loving home is far more damaging than the 'emotional abuse' social services claim the children are being subjected to. The fact that we are gagged in court; the fact that we are rarely allowed witnesses and when we are they are examined very little; the fact that our witnesses are not allowed to sit throughout our hearings even as a support to us parents; the fact that we are surrounded by professionals who remain throughout the whole hearing and hear each others evidence when our own cannot; the fact that when our children are taken into care they are instantly removed, yet if they are allowed home they have too be eased back into home-life. How is any of this in any way fair? Criminals have a right to a fair trial with judge and jury, yet our court hearings have to be kept secret and decisions that completely change a child's life are made by just one person. We are treated as less than criminals, we are not even afforded equality with those we fight against in court. Also how good are Cafcass? What good do they actually do for our children? My daughters Guardian, who is meant to be an independent person and solely placed for my daughters, goes for lunch with social services, has done no assessment of the home environment and hasn't even asked my girls what THEY want! Doesn't quite add up, does it!? Foster carers are also protected, more than the children in their care. If a parent complains about a foster carer it is taken as being malicious, most children are too afraid to complain except to their parents, so how does a complaint get made and acted upon then? SO, I want to see changes, BIG changes, and I am going to pursue this, even if I get my daughters back, to ensure that things are better handled in our courts of LAW! Even if that means I have to get the laws themselves changed to do so. I will not stop until parents are afforded justice, equality and the right to Independent assessments.
