Dyscalculia Can Be Treated Without Labeling Children

So many schools are in the business of treating conditions that have no real existence outside our label rich society. ADD, ADHD, Dyscalculia, many forms of Dyspraxia, and on and on. Children who are perfectly normal, but need a school environment that doesn't force one size on everyone, are routinely prescribed drugs, especially Ritalin, prescribed for 7% of the total public school population whereas less than 1% may need such a drug. The US public schools, in trying to force one size on our children, maintain the highest expulsion and suspension rate of any school system in the world. Now one student who was expelled from three schools has invented (as a result of his painful experiences) a game to address many of the manufactured symptoms that have been so destructive for so many kids. We can read about this game on the net: Classic Klondike Baseball. Frankly I don't know where esle to find it. Maybe the Linda Christas College site as well. This three times expelled  student finally found a place to shine. He is a senior in college there now.

At any rate, I am not saying that this one game is the answer to all the labeling. Perhaps just designing school around kids rather than designing kids around school would be a start.
