Sea World Please Retire Corky

PLEASE - Link to this petition from Facebook, MySpace and remember to tell your friends on Twitter!

Corky is a female orca whale who was captured in 1969 at 4 years of age.  Corky has spent the past 40 years swimming in endless circles in her tank while she waits for the next show to entertain hundreds of people at a time.
Every performer eventually retires and/or dies.  And, it's time to reunite Corky with her family, the A5 Pod near British Columbia, so that she can live out her final golden years happily.  She shouldn't have to take her last breathe of air and sink to the bottom of her tank when the time comes.
Sea World's stance is that if they release Corky, she will die.  However, this is merely a greedy statement designed to hide the truth - as long as Corky has to continue performing shows, someone is making money.  Sea World in San Diego has 7 orcas in total.
If Corky is released and reintegrated back into her original pod, she will be looked after by one of the world's leading orca experts - Dr. Paul Spong.  Dr. Spong has spent the past 40 years creating a state-of-the-technology "Natural Lab" consisting of video and audio monitoring equipment where the A5 Pod lives.  Dr. Spong strongly wants to see Corky released back to her pod before her final breathe.  With your help, we can make that happen.
Please help us convince Corky's owners - Sea World and The Blackstone Group - that it is time to finally release the aging orca Corky from her tank and back into the wild.

We the undersigned are asking Sea World and The Blackstone Group to release the orca called "Corky" back to her original A5 Pod Family.
Corky has faithfully served the entertainment industry for 40 years and was estimated to be about 3 at the time of her capture.  Since wild orcas live an average lifespan of 50 years, Corky doesn't have much time left and she should not die in the tank that she endlessly circles at Sea World in San Diego.
We understand that Sea World has provided great care for Corky and believes that if Corky is released that she will die in the wild.  We further understand that after 40 years of hard work, it is time to allow Corky to retire from her life of entertainment to the peaceful location from where she was originally captured on December 12th, 1969 to be reunited with her original A5 Pod Family, whose distinctive vocalizations she still sings.
Further, if Sea World or The Blackstone Group is continuing to hold Corky in captivity due to the cost of transportation and release, the funding needed for Corky's release can be arranged by ORCAS - Oceanic Rescue and Cetacean Action Society.   As such, there is no reason, other than for mere financial gain from ticket sales, to continue to hold Corky in captivity.
Thank you for taking this timely matter into immediate consideration.
