Grant Clarence Aaron Clemency

Because of a recent three-part series appearing online, there has been a renewed energy to petition President Bush for clemency on behalf of Clarence Aaron.  Please consider spreading this petition to your friends and family!

Remember, Clarence had no prior convictions and was just shy of completing his college degree!

Clarence Aaron has been in a maximum security prison for 15 years.   Without your help to garner attention to this miscarriage of justice Clarence will serve the remainder of his life in a federal prison.  Clarence Aaron was charged and convicted of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.  Clarence is serving three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. 

There were NO drugs produced into evidence at either of Clarence's trials.   Furthermore, the conviction was the result of testimony by admitted drug dealers who were able to secure a favorable deal with prosecutors for their assistance.  Prior to this conviction, Mr. Aaron had no previous criminal record.  Clarence received a harsher sentence than some rapists, child molesters, or murderers. 

Before the conviction, Clarence was months from college graduation and a star football athlete on a scholarship and majoring in marketing. 
Even if his conviction were just, Clarence no longer deserves to be incarcerated.  Those who played a major role in the alleged conspiracy received much lighter sentences and have already been released.  In fact, the role Clarence played was nothing more than facilitaing a meeting between the two parties.  Clarence has acknowledged his behavior was misguided, nonetheless no public interest is advanced by the further incarceration of Clarence Aaron.

Bush in consideration of Clarence Aaron's petition for a commutation of his sentence, so he can complete his education and rejoin his family while contributing to the community as a productive citizen.
