Ohio: Say "No" to the Heartbeat Bill
Ohio legislators are close to putting a bill into effect that would limit the time period during which a woman may procure an abortion.
House Bill 125, or the "Heartbeat" bill would prohibit a woman from aborting a fetus after a heartbeat can be detected (about 6 weeks). Abortions can safely be perform within the first three months of pregnancy.
The decision to have a child cannot be made quickly. Whether a woman decides to have a baby or terminate the pregnancy it is a personal decision and one that should not be rushed. By putting a time limit on how long a woman can wait to terminate her pregnancy, it forces the woman to make a life-altering decision within a time frame that might not be too short for her.
Do not allow for government interference in such an important and personal decision. Ask Ohio Senators to reject House Bill 125.
The women of Ohio deserve to have time to make the right decision about their future. House Bill 125 threatens the reproductive rights of women by forcing them to make a life-altering decision within a time frame that may not suit their needs.
Deciding to bring a child into the world is a difficult decision that could take months to make. If a woman realizes that she does not have the means to give a child a good life she may decide to procure an abortion. Alternatively, a woman considering an abortion may realize that she, in fact, does want to see the pregnancy through.
Do not force women into life long regret by not giving them enough time to make an informed and confident decision. Stop House Bill 125 from passing in Ohio.
