My brother in law, Phillip Isaacs, would not allow my father and sister Laurie to see my sister Twilah and had them removed from Twilah’s family property by police. They had come to visit Twilah in her final days, having lost her battle with breast cancer.

In the USA there is no mandatory Last Will and Testament registration process, and as a result, our loved one’s wishes may be concealed from us or changed by a vengeful spouse.

A living will, which also has no mandatory registration process, was created by Twilah and was completely ignored. Her wish was to be kept alive long enough to allow for family and friends to visit with her.

The Last Will and Testament which Twilah had put in place when she discovered she was terminally ill had been changed 9 days before her death. Having seen her a day later, I can unequivocally say, she was in no condition to read and assess the changes in a forty page legal document.

I propose that legal changes need to be implemented for the processes surrounding written final wishes. In all US states, It should be mandatory to register Last Will and Testaments as well as Living Wills or any other documents which convey an individual's final wishes.

It should also be made mandatory that immediate family be granted visitation with a family member in their final stage of life. No other family member, spouse, child, parent or sibling may deny any other family member access.
