The Silvery Pigeon or Silvery Wood-Pigeon is a large silvery-grey and black pigeon with a sloping forehead, conspicuous dark red or purplish eye-wattles and eyes upper tail coverts and base of tail greyish-white, it was endemic to Indonesia and Malaysia and it's believed to be extinct since 1931 till it had been rediscovered in 2008 in the islets of Masolkut island and Simaimu Islands in Indonesia, with less than 50 individual it's declared as Critically Endangered (D1) by BirdLife International and as Critically Endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Threats are Disturbance, Deforestation, Settlement, Hunting, poaching for illegal bird trading and habitat loss because of extensive clearance for logging and conversion to agriculture and plantations and mining for gravel and large-scale oil palm plantations.
