Do Not Remove the Carpool discount across GWB, Lincoln, Holland crossings

The Port Authority of NY/NJ has announced that they are removing the Car Pool discount for entering NY on the GW Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel, and Holland Tunnel.

Thousands of commuters take advantage of this benefit everyday and the removal of it will be detrimental for all parties.

New Jersey residents will have to pay thousands of dollars a year in new tolls and the addition of new cars will of course increase air pollution. That's a lose-lose for absolutely everyone (maybe except the Port Authority revenue stream).

Gov. Phil Murphy has said he is on the side of commuters and would talk to the Port Authority about keeping the discount, but he has yet to do so.

Please sign this petition to bring awareness to not just his Administration but all your local officials. Otherwise we don't stand a chance.

This carpooling helps people save a few bucks whether they are driving people across the bridge or if people are getting a ride across the bridge.Carpooling helps with people cluttering bus stops waiting in the cold or rain for transits.Carpooling helps reduce vehicle emissions and vehicle congestion.Carpooling helps get hard working people across the bridge in a timely manner. As a carpool driver,it allows us to say good morning and have a great day to our fellow jersians,

The new rules are to go into effect January 5, 2020.
