When the activity of the sun increase which it has done already some times. It will suck in it the Mercury. The the mass of the sun will be bigger...not much but enough to do more destruction on Milky way. At the same time all the other planets on Milky Way will be step one cirkle nearer to the sun. At that moment the Earth will be impossible tp any life form.
The scientists and Nasa should research the possibility to move on Mars or Jupiter. Instead they are making research too far away. Our technology and engineering is not on the level it should because too much money will be used on wars around the Earth even it collapse anyway. Anyway it would be some time in the universal books but hundreds of years in terra time.
The other possibility were Andromeda but that is too far to reach at the moment. Andromeda is quite a similar creation than Milky Way. The extra terrestials know that and are very worried about the situation.
