Brad Woodside broke the law. He LIED to the public about Fredericton bylaws that did not exist. He ordered the Fredericton City Police to uphold these non-existant bylaws. He had City Police threaten to arrest a CTV reporter who attempted to film the Police as they assaulted citizens and vandalized their property.
He was sued by Julian Renaud, Dana Hartt, and Alex Davenport for his illegal actions.
Brad Woodside used a City lawyer to defend his illegal actions. When he realised he was going to lose, he made a financial settlement. He is paying for this settlement with PUBLIC TAX DOLLARS.
Fredericton’s By-law A-3 indicates, in Section 3.04, that the City won’t pay the legal costs of officials who contribute to a claim “by reason of fraud of dishonesty."
The taxpayers of Fredericton did not commit the crime. Brad Woodside committed the crime. He needs to pay the penalty for his crimes out of HIS OWN POCKET!
By signing this petition, I, a voter and taxpaying resident of the City of Fredericton New Brunswick, do hereby declare that I do NOT give permission for MY tax dollars to be used to pay Brad Woodside's legal bills. He MUST repay city tax coffers for the time spent by a City lawyer on this lawsuit, AND for the monetary settlement that resulted from the lawsuit.
