Help bring MLS Goalkeeper, JOE CANNON, back to the San Jose Earthquakes!

The overview of this petition is to bring awareness to John Doyle (General Manger), Billy Beane (Player Operations Director), Frank Yallop (Head Coach), and the entire San Jose Earthquakes Organization of the fact that the Earthquake fans want goalkeeper, Joe Cannon, to be signed to the Earthquakes for the 2008 season and beyond.
By doing this, the club will take a giant step forward towards the primary objective of bring the MLS Cup back to the city of San Jose.  Please take a moment to sign this petition to bring JOE CANNON back.
The following petition was created by the fans of the SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES in order to voice the public opinion about signing JOE CANNON back to the Earthquakes for the 2008 season and beyond.
The Earthquakes deserve this 2 time MLS goalkeeper of the year for numerous reasons, but none stronger than the fact that CANNON will be the backbone of the defense leading to a winning season, and the return of an MLS Title.  Since defense ultimately wins games, it makes most sense to build strongest in the back first.  We are sure Billy Beane can attest to this with his defensive approach to fielding a winning squad.
The following is a brief rundown of the accomplishments by JOE CANNON during his previous stint with the club:

2002: Played 26 games for the Earthquakes, compiling 13-10-3 record and a 1.10 GAA en route to winning his first MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award.

2001: Was named to the MLS All-Star team for the first time and was a finalist for MLS Goalkeeper of the Year for the first time. He started all 25 games in which he appeared, collecting 13 wins and a 1.09 GAA in the regular season. Cannon was even better in the postseason, going 5-1 with a 0.49 GAA to lead San Jose to its first MLS Cup title.

2000: Started all 26 games in which he appeared, tallying a 1.49 GAA that was the fourth best in MLS.

1999: Bay Area product assumed starting goalkeeper position for San Jose in June and played all 90 minutes in each of his team's final 18 games, finishing with a career-high 14 wins and a 1.33 GAA.

To the entire EARTHQUAKES Orginization, please take in consideration the time and effort put forth to acquire the signatures and the ever strong pride in our community to bring back our favorite Bay Area Soccer Club, THE SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
