Sons of UK Millionnaire Beat Police Officer Shouldn't Be Spared Jail Time

In December, George and Costas Panayiotou -- whose father, Andreas, is described as one of the wealthiest in Britain -- beat an off-duty policeman so badly that he needed titanium plates fitted to his head. While they've pleaded guilty to affray, they have received no jail time, nor have two of their friends who also participated in the assault.

The assault only ended when bouncers from a nearby nightclub intervened. The officer may have been more seriously injured or even killed without such an intervention.

Sparing these assailants is unacceptable. Money should not be able to buy freedom for those who committed this heinous crime.

Tell the prisons minister to punish those involved in the police officer's beating. The suspended sentences should instead be served in prison.

Dear Sir,

We the undersigned ask that you revoke the suspension of the sentences of the Panayiotou brothers.
