Idaho, Reject the Mandatory Ultrasound Bill
Bringing a new human into the world is a huge deal, and parents, not politicians, are the ones who undergo the pain of labor and the enormous sacrifice of time and energy that goes into raising a child. But that hasn't stopped a lot of right-wingers from trying to put their policies between a woman and her reproductive freedoms.
Bill 1387, a proposal to make women get ultrasounds before abortions, has already passed the Idaho Senate and is on its way to state representatives. If approved, it will be the ninth state to adopt such a law.
This is a clear attempt to shame and abuse women. Tell Idaho's state reps to strike down the ultrasound bill and send a message to other states that this is the wrong course of action for women's rights.
We the undersigned demand you strike down Bill 1387 which would require a woman seeking an abortion to first get an ultrasound. This bill is obviously vindictive and punitive. If you think women should not have any rights over their own bodies or any reproductive freedoms, you should just admit it. Otherwise, we see no reasonable alternative to voting against this bill which threatens the physical, emotional, and financial welfare of so many women.
