change the laws

we have so much crime going on ,eg house break in and assaults ,theft of cars and bashings ,people living in fear
the Australian courts cant give proper sentences to criminals carryout these acts ,because of the current sentencing laws .the police are doing all they can to take these people ,lay charges against them ,only to have the courts let them off with a slap on the wrist ,we want and need changes for courts to give them proper sentences ,regardless of # he,s had a hard life ,race or other excuses
