Publishing houses need to help in averting the climate crisis

The Publishing industry creates carbon and paper waste at an alarming rate. In order to help save humanity and biodiversity we need to call on Publishing houses and factories to stop using carbon and stop wasting 30% percent of all printed books!

we need to save our culture and our species. We need to save our literacy and our livelihoods at the same time, and we can do that by calling on those who handle the creative side of humanity because they can truly help even if they don’t believe that they can. Together we will convince them to move forward with the times.

This petition will go to all major publishing houses in the U.K. e.g Bloomsbury, Penguin, Walker books and many more. We love stories. Humans have been telling stories since the dawn of civilisation and beyond and stories have been noted to drive real change. Now stories need to drive change in more ways than one, physically and metaphorically and those who bring them to the masses need to understand this. Publishers need to stop using fossil fuels in the next ten years and also need to stop creating 30% waste for every mass order of books that they print by using better estimation methods. By delivering this petition to them we can tell them to change their production methods.
