A federal judge just blocked Trump's planned triumphal arch at Arlington National Cemetery, stopping Trump from defiling hallowed ground with a repulsive and gaudy monument to his fragile ego.
In a 33-page ruling, Judge Tanya S. Chutkan stopped the construction of Trump's planned triumphal arch for at least two weeks while legal challenges to the arch work themselves out.
Trump's big trashy arch is facing legal challenges from veterans' groups and from the District of Columbia itself, arguing that planning for the arch skipped environmental and historical reviews and required "specific congressional authorization" that the Trump administration did not seek.
The judge did not buy that Trump needed this arch to be a secret military drone port to keep the Capitol safe since the "security aspects" of the arch were added in at the last second when it looked like the arch was going to get shut down.
But this is inevitably going to get sent up to higher courts that might be more friendly to Trump's insipid demands, and we cannot allow him to succeed.
