Congressman Issa, give financially struggling women a choice!

Washington D.C. currently has to wait for congressional approval to spend its tax digest, and the district suffers from the delay. D.C. residents don't get services on time, new programs can not be implemented in a timely manner, and no other city has a similar encumbrance, according to voting rights site, dcvote.org.

This is where Congressman Darrell Issa has the opportunity to ride in on a white horse. Issa has already authored a proposal that would give the district faster access to its own money--but the Congressman attached a caveat that said no funds would be used for low-cost or free abortions, except in cases of rape or incest.

D.C. leaders have now rejected that bill, specifically because of the anti-choice rider. Ask Congressman Issa to remove the abortion clause from his D.C. relief bill and send it back to Congress.
We the undersigned respectfully ask that you not ruin a perfectly good bill with a clause that is hurtful to the nation's poorest women. Please remove the abortion clause from the bill you authored which gives Washington D.C. access to its own money and send it back to lawmakers for approval.
