Boycott Whale and Dolphin Shows

Every year, organisations like Sea World make millions of dollars in the dolphin and whale show industry. These cetations belong in the wild, in the expanse of the seas and oceans they should naturally inhabit. It is therefore the height of cruelty, in my opinion, to capture them, confine them in what are nothing more than boxes of water, and force them to perform tricks on demand.

We have seen two instances already this year, that prove to us the consequences of our control over the mammals: the first being the tragic death of the trainer at Sea World, and the second being the dolphin jumping out of its container, wanting to break free that much. How many more deaths is it going to take for people to realise that the containment of these poor creatures is unnatural and cruel? They are not supposed to be kept in captivity, they are supposed to be free. What gives us the right to take them from their natural habitats and use them for our own personal gain? These animals are by no means unintelligent, in fact it is thought that the intelligance of dolphins in particular has not been fully explored yet.

So what i ask of you, is to join me in my boycott of all dolphin and whale shows, to pledge never to support the disgusting and cruel treatment of these innocent creatures by refusing to contribute to the greed of Sea World and its sister organisations. It is not a hard thing to do, but for every one person who decides to avoid the shows, its one less ticket Sea World is going to sell. And who knows, maybe we could end up making a difference :) Thanks for taking the time to read this.
