Stand Up For Solar Power in Florida!

Imagine a Florida powered by the sun and not by dirty coal or oil. It's not an idle daydream. Not if you take a stand. Three Florida lawmakers are taking solar power to the voters in an August ballot. Registered Florida voters will get a chance to vote for a suite of solar power tax breaks that will make it more affordable for homeowners and businesses to convert to sensible energy. The ballot item will appear as an amendment to the state's constitution.

Please join me in supporting this statewide amendment that provides home and industrial solar power system tax breaks in Florida. Sign this petition to help me demonstrate the powerful support for clean energy in the Sunshine State.

I believe the bright, blazing and abundant Florida sun can be harnessed to turn on the lights, air condition homes, and drive industry. Solar power is the energy of the future, and oil and gas, with their devastating climate consequences, are the way of the past. I support legislation that gives tax breaks to homeowners and business owers who have the forward thinking and savvy to invest in solar panels. Doing so will save them money in the long run, but the initial investment in solar energy is considerable--even with prices declining steadily. So tax incentives are needed to help businesses and homeowners move ahead with this constructive change. My signature on this petition means I stand up for solar.
