Housing Crisis For The Elderly In The State of Florida

We the undersigned come to petition the Department of Housing And Urban Development to place a capping for the rates that landlords can charge seniors. According to the yearly guidelines published by The Florida Housing Finance Corporation, there is no consideration for the elderly who do not make the income percentage that is listed. If this is allowed to continue, there will be more elderly homeless or living in cars and abandoned home across this state.

We are appealing to HUD and our state officials to place a capping on elderly rental rates across the state of Florida and establish new policies that will remove the power from the landlord and put it back to the consumer.
